FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

I am worried that i am too inflexible for yoga?

The perfect yoga is the best YOU can do today. Flexibility is a welcome side effect of regular yoga practice but not the object in itself. You are never too stiff, too old, too young or too unfit to benefit from yoga, so make a start this week!

What do I need to bring to class?

Students are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats if they have one. I have mats available for those who are new to yoga. You may wish to bring a small bottle of water although again cups and water are available at the back of the class

What shall I wear?

A couple of layers of loose comfortable clothing are best for yoga. You want to be warm and comfortable during the initial and final relaxations but not too hot during some of the more strenuous standing sequences.

What is different about "authentic classical yoga" compared to other classes available?

Much of the "yoga" taught in the West focuses purely on the physical postures and often misses the true purpose of yoga. The style of teaching I have termed authentic classical yoga seeks to teach yoga practice as it was originally intended 5000 years ago, as a complete life system for cultivation of the sadhaka (student).
